This privacy policy sets out how Cat Society collects and process information about you. We gather your information when you: 1). register your interest on the Cat Society website; or 2). if you are selected as a winner in one of our social media competitions. 

 

By participating in these, you consent to your information being collected, and processed in accordance with this policy. 

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT AND HOW?

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you. 

 

We collect your information: 

 

1). If you register your interest on the Cat Society website. We collect and process your full name, email address and country of residence through a simple form on the website. 

 

 2). If you are selected as a winner in our social media competitions. If you are a competition winner, we may ask you for your name, postal address, email address, and phone number, and this will be used to fulfil the prize.​

 

All information is stored on a secure database. 

 

HOW DO WE USE THE INFORMATION? 

If you register your interest on the Cat Society website, we use the information that you have given us to: email you early and exclusive information about Cat Society, email you about special offers and competitions, and email you bonus content. We may use your information for direct marketing purposes, including providing updates, newsletters, events, or other communications that we think may interest you. 

 

If you are selected as a winner in one of our social media competitions, we will use the information that you have given us to fulfil your prize. We may also post competition winner names and social media usernames on the @CatSocietyUK social media profiles.

 

DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION? 

If you are selected as a winner in one of our social media competitions, we may post your name and social media username on the @CatSocietyUK social media profiles. We may share your information with a third-party service provider only where necessary such as to deliver your prize. 

WHAT CHOICES DO I HAVE? 

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are: Your consent. 

 

You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting meow@catsociety.uk

We respect your right to access, correct, request deletion or request restriction of our usage of your personal information as required by applicable UK law. We also take steps to ensure that the personal Information we collect is accurate and up to date. 

HOW LONG WILL YOU HOLD MY PERSONAL INFORMATION? 
We will not hold onto your personal information longer than necessary to update you on Cat Society or fulfil competition prizes. Personal information processed for any purpose will not be kept for longer than is necessary for that purpose as set out in the GDPR or other relevant Data Protection Legislation. After it is no longer necessary for us to retain your personal information, we will dispose of it in a secure manner.
