Cat Society: Competition T&Cs

For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, "The Promoter" refers to Ray Sadri, author of Cat Society, whose social media account handles are @catsocietyuk on Instagram, Facebook, X and TikTok.

Current promotion:

The current promotion will start on Wednesday 13th December 2023 and end at midnight on Monday 18th December 2023.

The prize refers to one (1) author-signed copy of Cat Society, the novel and one (1) illustrated, limited edition, Cat Society bookmark.

A total of three (3) prizes (a signed copy of Cat Society, the novel and an illustrated, limited edition, Cat Society bookmark) will be given away on X (formerly Twitter).

Entry instructions relating to the promotion will be posted on the @catsocietyuk X channel.

To participate, an entrant must follow the specific instructions detailed in the post introducing the promotion.

By entering the competition, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. All entries must be received by midnight on Monday 18th December 2023.

Winners will be selected at random by The Promoter by Friday 22nd December 2023 and the winner will then be notified.

All Cat Society promotions:

Unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Promoter, a prize will only be awarded directly to the entrant responsible for the social media account against which a winning entry was registered.

No purchase necessary. Winners will not be required to pay to enter the competition.

Internet access and valid accounts on one or more of the following are required: Instagram, Facebook, and X (formerly known as Twitter).

Instagram, Facebook, and X are not in any way affiliated or involved in the competition.

The Promoter will not be held liable for any failure of receipt of entries. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any entries which are lost, delayed, illegible, corrupted, damaged, incomplete, or otherwise invalid.

The Promoter will not be held liable if the named prize becomes unavailable or cannot be fulfilled.

Any entry which the Promoter reasonably determines to contain obscene, offensive, libellous, or anti-social content will be rejected (and removed from the relevant promotional post).

Where an entry includes a photograph, the photograph must be the entrant’s own original photo and the entrant must obtain the permission of anyone else appearing in the photograph prior to posting it on any of the social media accounts. Photos should not depict anyone who is, or appears to be, under the age of 18.

Automated/bulk entries and entries from third parties will be disqualified. No incomplete or corrupted entries will be accepted. Entries will only be accepted if they comply with all entry instructions. There is no limit to how many times someone can enter.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, The Promoter’s liability under or in connection with the competition or these terms and conditions shall be limited to the cost price of the Prize in question.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, The Promoter shall not be liable under or in connection with these terms and conditions, the competition or any Prize for any indirect, special or consequential cost, expense, loss or damage suffered by a participant even if such cost, expense, loss or damage was reasonably foreseeable or might reasonably have been contemplated by the participant and the promoter and whether arising from breach of contract, tort, negligence, breach of statutory duty or otherwise.

Prizes are non-negotiable, non-transferable, and non-refundable. No cash alternative is available. Where a Prize becomes unavailable for any reason, the promoter reserves the right to substitute that prize for a prize of equal or higher value.

The Promoter will notify the winner via direct message. The name, postal address, email address, and phone number of the winner must be provided to The Promoter if requested and will be shared to enable fulfilment of the Prize.

Once The Promoter receives a message from the winner with their postal address, the Promoter will endeavour to dispatch the prize within 28 calendar days, but the Promoter shall not be liable for any delay in, or failure to send a prize, if such delay or failure arises from any cause beyond its reasonable control, including without limitation any act of God, Governmental act (including any act of any foreign government, the European Union or other international body), war, adverse weather conditions, fire, flood, tempest, explosion, civil commotion, riot, insurrection or act of terrorism, failure of a third party or industrial action. However, the Promoter will endeavour to avoid disappointing winners.

The Promoter is not responsible if a winner does not receive notification that they have won due to any technical issue affecting their social media account or delivery of their prize as a result of having provided an incorrect or incomplete postal address.

In the event that any winner does not respond or cannot be contacted within 28 calendar days, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw prize entitlement and award the prize to a reserve winner selected at the same time as the original. Only one prize per draw can be won by any person.

The winner’s name and social media username may be posted on the social media profiles of The Promoter after the winner has been selected.

The Promoter is bound by applicable data protection legislation and will act in accordance with data protection legislation.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond The Promoter’s reasonable control, the promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition or these terms and conditions, either in whole or in part, with or without notice.
